What Is Truthful Lending dot Com?

Picture of John CrenshawMy name is John Crenshaw and I’m the site owner and operator of TruthfulLending.com, as well as a Mortgage Advisor at OC Capital, a mortgage planning company in beautiful Irvine, California.

Being that this is the first article on TruthfulLending.com, I’m going to tell you a little bit about how this site came about.

I got into the mortgage industry a while back because I’ve always been interested in investments and decided I wanted to help people get the most out of the biggest investment they’ll likely have in their lives…their home.

I started at a company that was like the movie Boiler Room, and no more ethical a practice either. After a month or two I was still fresh and was just beginning to wrap my head around what was going down in that office. I remember the day I realized for sure that these guys were taking advantage of people - I honestly couldn’t believe they weren’t in jail yet - I got out of there and starting searching for a new job.

So, I left a company after two months where the average “scam artist” was being paid $300,000 a year to search for a job with maxed out credit cards and not a dime to my name (I was on 100% commission). The good news is that I new enough about the business to be certain that I got in with an ethical company this time around. I’d like to say I had a great story about how I searched far and wide for a great company and finally found one but, quite honestly, my first interview was with the company I ended up joining; it was a no-brainer.

So that’s the story of how I got into the mortgage industry and ended up at OC Capital.

My goal with this site is to offer an insiders view of the mortgage industry with the idea of giving each of my readers a fuller understanding of everything that goes into the financing of their most important investments, their homes.
