I reported that my idenity was stolen 12 yrs ago so I placed and kept a fraud alert on my SS # since then but guess what it was stolen again and there is a $14,000 debt on my credit. I have written at least 5 letters to each credit bureau and did online disputes but to no avail. I will be writing another set of letters using your sample letter and threatening to hire legal representation hopefully that will spark the credit bureau to react and clear this crap off of me. I signed for my brothers cell phone contract, and unfortunately he wasn't responsible enough to pay his bill and I'm the one who got punished for his mistake (will it's my mistake as well for signing for him). I just got a letter from a collection agency, I wasn't aware of this at all as they were contacting me via email for some reason and it wasn't the correct email! I paid the amount owed right away!
